About me

I am Professor of Applied Mathematics at the Institute of Mathematics of Bordeaux. Throughout my career, I have undertaken various roles and responsibilities, including leading the Memphis project team at the Inria Center of the University of Bordeaux. My career has involved project coordination, and active involvement in national and European projects. I have also been part of entrepreneurial initiatives, contributing to the establishment of the startup Nurea, which originated from the Memphis project team, and of Optimad Engineering, a spin off of the Politecnico di Torino.

Research topics

  • Numerical solution of PDEs, e.g., implicit schemes for compressible materials, Eulerian finite-volume approaches for fluid-structure interaction, ADER schemes for incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, asymptotic preserving schemes for compressible flows, BGK polyatomic models and schemes for rarefied flows.

  • Reduced order modelling, e.g., component-based model reduction in elasticity and fluid mechanics, coherent structure mapping in parameterized flows, reduced-order modeling of conservation laws.

  • Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, e.g., topological optimization for rotor design, fluid-solid stability analysis of heaving foils. field inversion for data-augmented RANS modeling, uncertainty quantification in water supply systems.
